DECATUR – Norfolk Southern Corp. is poised to make the most of what the company sees as a turnaround in the economy, which it said Thursday can in turn be a boost for Decatur.
The opportunities for the railroad industry are virtually limitless as companies such as Norfolk Southern look to convert freight carried by truck to rail, said Brad Yeatts, the director of agriculture and consumer products for N.S. Yeatts who spoke during the Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce annual meeting held at the Decatur Conference Center & Hotel.
“We see a positive outlook in the economy, which is good for this railroad community,” Yeatts said. “The growth is there, and the economy is picking up.”
